Thesis Project
2019

Foundations for Opportunity Podcast
Podcast Host & Public Relations Officer
This project was so much fun and extremely fulfilling. I was able to work with an extremely diverse team that all shared a passion for telling stories of those in the industry who resembled us, and broke barriers to get to where they are today. This resulted in the first-ever audio-based practicum project in RTA Sport Media.
My role was to make the initial and all contact with our show guests, including confirmation, booking, follow up and scheduling interviews. I secured interviews with Kayla Grey, Theo Fleury, Rex Kalamian, Billy Bridges and Scott MacArthur in two weeks' time, using my own personal network and social media. I conducted show prep and hosted weekly shows. My team and I were constantly researching compelling storylines. I helped develop a social strategy and raised audience growth by 25% on Instagram in November 2019.
We capped off our thesis project by hosting a live podcast on campus in the Global Experiential Sports Lab in front of 50 guests, provided Fleet's catering and a Raptors ticket raffle. We interviewed Toronto Raptors Superfan Nav Bhatia. We put this event together, executed and promoted in two business days.
Sport Reporting

ATB News
Freelance Writer and Reporter
ATB (At The Buzzer) News is a Toronto media-based basketball blog. Since 2016, I got to report on behalf of ATB News and upload timely content during events such as All-Canadian BioSteel Games, Nike Crown League, Raptors 905 Games, NBA G-League Showcase and U Sports Basketball Games to Instagram. This site helped me gain experience using WordPress to format each blog post and work directly with developers to create attractive, unique and user-friendly website layout. I also learned how to pitch story ideas, get creative with image use and headlines, and work on my reporting.

Sport Radio

Spirit Live Radio
4 Point Play Radio Host
From on the court performance and analyzing stats, to off-court gossip and news on basketball culture, my co-hosts Alex, Kayla, Yonas and I had it covered for four semesters.
"Four Toronto based sports fans with a passion for basketball try to put their Raptors bias aside to give fair opinions on basketball news from the NBA, NCAA, and even USports. With fun segments like You Mad Bruh and Hot Takes, these sport media students entertain all the way to the buzzer-beater."
